Q4 2026 Earnings Call Summary
The call was strongly positive. Record revenue, earnings, manufacturing wins, sector growth, operating improvements, ROIC, working-capital efficiency, and the raised fiscal 2027 outlook significantly outweighed the limited challenges, which included materials timing, expected industrial normalization, seasonal first-quarter cash-cycle expansion, and planned investments that temporarily pressure first-quarter margins.
For fiscal first quarter, Plexus is guiding revenue of $1.41 billion to $1.46 billion, representing 1% sequential and 34% year over year growth at the midpoint, non GAAP operating margin of 6.0% to 6.4%, non GAAP EPS of $2.46 to $2.62, gross margin of 9.7% to 10.0%, selling and administrative expense of $61 million to $62 million, a non GAAP effective tax rate of 16% to 18%, and a cash cycle of 66 to 70 days; aerospace and defense revenue is expected to be up high single digits sequentially, healthcare/life sciences revenue growth up low single digits, and industrial revenue down low single digits. For fiscal 2027, Plexus anticipates mid to upper teens revenue growth, a new non GAAP operating margin goal of 6.5% to 7.0%, gross margins of approximately 10.0%, operating flow through at the low end of the 8% to 12% target range, a cash cycle in the low to mid sixties, capital expenditures in the range of 2% to 3.0% of revenue likely toward the upper end, and free cash flow in excess of $100 million; aerospace and defense and industrial revenue growth are expected to exceed 20%, while healthcare/life sciences revenue is expected to grow high single digits exceeding market growth, which Plexus estimates to be mid single digits.
- Record Fourth-Quarter Revenue and Fiscal-Year GrowthFiscal fourth-quarter revenue reached a record $1.43 billion, increasing 9% sequentially and 35% year over year. Fiscal 2026 revenue increased 23% year over year to approximately $5 billion.
- Strong Operating Margin and EPS PerformanceFiscal fourth-quarter non-GAAP operating margin was 6.7%, up 40 basis points sequentially and nearly 100 basis points year over year. Non-GAAP diluted EPS was $2.84, with both operating margin and EPS substantially exceeding guidance.
- Fiscal 2026 Margin Goal Exceeded and New Target IntroducedPlexus exceeded its 6.0% non-GAAP operating margin goal for fiscal 2026, delivering a 6.2% margin, up 30 basis points from the prior year. The company introduced a new non-GAAP operating margin goal of 6.5% to 7.0%.

Fiscal 2026 wins totaled nearly $1.2 billion in annualized revenue. The qualified manufacturing opportunity funnel reached a record $4.9 billion, up $1.2 billion, or 33%, year over year and 10% sequentially.
- Aerospace and Defense Wins and Growth OutlookFiscal fourth-quarter aerospace and defense wins were $90 million, up 67% year over year, bringing fiscal-year wins to $490 million. Fiscal 2026 aerospace and defense revenue grew 23%, and Plexus expects fiscal 2027 sector revenue growth to exceed 20%, with exceptional growth expected from defense, unmanned, security, and space subsectors.
- Healthcare and Life Sciences OutperformanceHealthcare and life sciences revenue increased 6% sequentially in the fiscal fourth quarter and grew 19% for fiscal 2026, well ahead of the company's estimated mid-single-digit market growth rate. Plexus now expects fiscal 2027 sector revenue growth in the high single digits, exceeding estimated market growth.
- Industrial Sector and Semiconductor Capital Equipment StrengthIndustrial-sector revenue increased 17% sequentially in the fiscal fourth quarter and 27% for fiscal 2026. Semiconductor capital equipment revenue increased 50% year over year. Plexus expects fiscal 2027 industrial-sector revenue growth to exceed 20%, supported by semi-cap, test and measurement, robotics and automation, and energy.
