Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary
The call was strongly positive, with record revenue, adjusted EBITDA, platform assets, net deposits and trading volumes, broad product expansion, increasing Gold adoption, early Robinhood Chain traction and continued international growth. The main challenges were modestly lighter early-Q4 trading volumes, tighter spreads and lower take-rate dynamics, quarter-to-quarter variability in net deposits and monthly activity, staged product rollouts, and regulatory uncertainty around U.S. tokenization. Management remained confident in customer engagement, product momentum and long-term expansion.
Management expects full year adjusted OpEx in SBC to be between $2.675 billion and $2.75 billion, with the top end lowered by $25 million and the midpoint $13 million lower versus prior outlook; Trump accounts are expected to represent about $100 million investment for the full year. Net deposits have already surpassed the 20% annualized growth target, reaching over $13 billion in October and over $68 billion year-to-date, while Q4 average daily volumes for equities, options and cryptos are about 5% lighter relative to the really strong Q3 and event contract ADVs are up about 10%; in a normalized environment, Robinhood expects to monetize Robinhood Chain at probably a couple of basis points on notional values, and each 25 basis point hike or decline is expected to produce about a 1.5% change to revenue. Over the long run, management’s vision is that more than half of the business should be outside the U.S. and more than half should be institutional; no 2027 expense guidance was provided, with the company saying it will share the full plan in January and February.
- Record Revenue, EBITDA and Platform AssetsQ3 revenue grew 12% year-over-year to a record $1.4 billion, adjusted EBITDA increased 9% to a record $808 million, adjusted EBITDA margin was 57%, and platform assets reached nearly $400 billion.
- Strong Trading Volume and Market-Share GainsMarket share grew double digits year-over-year across equities, options, crypto and margin. Equities, options and margin trading volumes each reached new highs and were up around 50% year-over-year.
- Record Net Deposits and Annual Target SurpassedRobinhood generated $16 billion of net deposits in Q3. October net deposits exceeded $13 billion, year-to-date net deposits surpassed $68 billion, and the company said it had already exceeded its annual 20% net deposit growth goal with two months remaining in the year.
- Product Velocity at HOOD SummitRobinhood launched 17 new products and services at its third annual HOOD Summit, including Agentic Trading in the app, MCP connectivity for Robinhood Legend, perpetual futures, earnings contracts for prediction markets and planned 24/7 equity trading later this year.
- Early Traction for Agentic TradingAgentic products expanded from external MCP tools into in-app Agentic Trading and Robinhood Legend connectivity. Customers had more than $250 million in Agentic accounts, and the company said usage and trading adoption were following an accelerating curve.
- Gold Membership Reached 5 Million SubscribersRobinhood Gold reached 5 million subscribers in Q3, up more than 30% year-over-year and 4x higher than when the company began revamping the program approximately four years ago. Gold adoption was approximately 18% across the customer base and 40% among customers who joined during the quarter.
- Trump Accounts Auto-Enrollment MilestoneThe U.S. Treasury opened Trump accounts for nearly 70 million eligible children under age 18. The Dell Foundation had already invested $250 for 25 million of those children, representing a $6 billion gift, and the company said employers and donors would be integrated into the broader ecosystem.
- Robinhood Chain Achieved Significant Early ScaleRobinhood Chain launched its Mainnet on July 1 and became a top-five chain by volume and revenue in its first quarter. It processed more than $100 billion in decentralized exchange volume and generated more than $50 million in chain fees. DeFi perpetuals exceeded $1 billion in daily volume in recent weeks.
- Global Expansion ProgressRobinhood received authorization from the Dubai Financial Services Authority to launch in the region, received in-principle approval from Singapore's MAS, continued expanding in the EU and U.K., and added crypto operations in Canada through the WonderFi acquisition. The company said it had surpassed 1 million international customers.
- Diversification Across Revenue ProductsRobinhood reached 14 revenue-producing cylinders with at least $100 million of annualized revenue. Prediction-markets exchange Rothera reached that level in its first full quarter of operations, while event-contract revenue increased 7x year-over-year.
- Growth in Net Interest Revenue DriversMargin, the credit-card book and Robinhood Banking each reached new record balances, while total interest-earning assets on the platform also reached a new high.
- Expense Discipline and ProductivityAdjusted operating expenses including stock-based compensation were $664 million, within the prior outlook range. Revenue per employee reached nearly $2 million, which management described as a new record.
- Adjusted EPS IntroducedGAAP EPS was $0.51, including a negative $0.07 mark-to-market impact on investments. Robinhood introduced adjusted EPS, which was $0.60 in Q3 and includes normal-course stock-based compensation while excluding gains or losses on investments and other nonoperating items.
- Prediction-Market Partnership EconomicsRobinhood partnered with crypto.com and og.com, receiving an initial 1% equity ownership stake with the ability to earn up to 10% depending on future partnership activity. Rothera remained the primary exchange and crypto.com/og.com was expected to become the main secondary exchange.
- Robinhood Banking Became the Top Withdrawal DestinationFor the first time, Robinhood Banking became the number-one withdrawal destination by dollars for Robinhood brokerage customers, despite still being in limited release.
- Peer-to-Peer Payments LaunchRobinhood launched a peer-to-peer send-money feature in limited release that allows users to send money by text. Recipients can accept funds through Apple Pay or Google Pay without having a Robinhood Banking account, and broader rollout was expected in the coming weeks.
- Robinhood Strategies Reached More Than $2 Billion in AssetsThe passive digital-advice product Robinhood Strategies surpassed $2 billion in assets and was described as growing quickly year-over-year. The Smart Income tool allows customers to set a time horizon and risk tolerance through a slider for a set-it-and-forget-it investment experience.
- Multi-Product Engagement Supports Revenue GrowthManagement said average revenue per user and engagement continue to increase as customers use three or four products. Customers using equities, crypto, options, futures and prediction markets were described as generating higher revenue and engagement.
- Robinhood Social ExpansionRobinhood Social expanded beyond sharing trades to include P&L, charts and portfolios, and added a creator offering. Management said the platform was developing a community, helping customers discover investment content and potentially creating a future creator-monetization business line.
- Prediction Markets Expanded Beyond SportsNon-sports contracts represented approximately 30% of prediction-market activity in the quarter, up from 15% in the prior quarter. Growth was cited in financial, crypto and commodities contracts, including planned company KPI contracts.
- Improved Prediction-Market PricingRobinhood introduced a dynamic pricing model for prediction markets, lowered customer pricing after acquiring Rothera, and offered additional pricing benefits to Gold members.
- Robinhood Chain Developer MomentumManagement said Robinhood Chain ranked number one in on-chain developer activity when last measured. The company was continuing to invest in supporting builders and expanding stock tokens and other real-world assets as programmable on-chain products.
- Chain Monetization and Ownership EconomicsRobinhood Chain generated approximately $50 million of gross revenue in the quarter, with about 50% shared with Arbitrum, leaving approximately $25 million on a net basis or $100 million annualized. Management said normalized monetization was expected to be a couple of basis points on notional values.
- Strong October Customer EngagementEquities, options and crypto average daily volumes in October were within plus or minus 5% of Q3's record levels, while event-contract average daily volumes were up approximately 10% sequentially and about 7x year-over-year.
