Q2 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q2 2026
Earnings Call Date:Oct 30, 2026|% Change Since:0.00%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was strongly positive overall. Revenue and core operating profit grew substantially, ENHERTU and DATROWAY showed strong commercial momentum, and the company reported multiple regulatory, clinical and strategic achievements. The main negative items were the withdrawn I-DXd accelerated approval filing, the delayed AVANZAR readout, regional revenue declines, higher expenses, CMO-related payments and the previously disclosed financial reporting corrections. These challenges were material but outweighed by the breadth and scale of the company's operating and pipeline progress.

Company Guidance

Daiichi Sankyo said its consolidated forecast for FY 2026 remains unchanged from the forecast announced in July, with progress on track toward achieving record high full year revenue and a significant year-on-year increase in full year operating profit; JPY 80 billion of CMO compensation fee related to calendar year 2028 is expected to be booked in the third quarter or later this fiscal year, with the total amount projected remaining the same, and the company said this is “more heavy as a matter of probability in the fourth quarter,” while ENHERTU sales milestone of more than JPY 90 billion is expected to be booked in the fourth quarter. The company expects “continued momentum throughout the second half of this fiscal year” for DATROWAY, expects third-quarter profits to be bigger and fourth-quarter profits weaker, with expenses expected to increase from the third quarter to the fourth quarter, and plans to deliver JPY 200 billion cost optimization over 5 years, with targeted benefits exceeding JPY 200 billion over 5 years. AVANZAR is expected to report in the first quarter of calendar year 2027, TROPION-Lung07 in the first half calendar year of 2027, more than 20 registrational trials are expected to be read out over the next several years, and one global commercialization organization will operate effective April 2027.

The company also continued to advance multiple ovarian cancer studies and reported that REJOICE-Ovarian01 data showed a confirmed overall response rate of 49.7%, median progression-free survival of 7.9 months and low-grade ILDs of 5.8%, with no grade 5 ILDs at the 5.6 milligrams per kilogram dose.
