Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Zero DebtZero reported debt reduces refinancing and interest-rate exposure, preserving financial flexibility during exploration and development. Compared with leveraged peers, the company has fewer fixed obligations that could restrict funding choices or intensify pressure during periods of weak operating performance.
Recent Positive Cash FlowThe move to positive trailing-twelve-month operating and free cash flow is an encouraging improvement after prior negative periods. If maintained, internal cash generation could reduce reliance on external financing and provide greater flexibility to advance projects or manage corporate costs.
Reduced Loss ScaleAlthough profitability remains negative, the materially smaller loss compared with 2023 indicates some improvement in financial performance. Continued control of losses would extend the company’s funding runway and make future project development less dependent on frequent capital raising.
Bears Say
No RevenueThe absence of revenue means the company currently lacks an operating income base to fund exploration, corporate expenses, or future development. Its financial outlook therefore remains dependent on project success and external financing rather than demonstrated commercial demand or recurring sales.
Persistent Net LossesRecurring net losses and negative TTM EBIT and EBITDA show that the business is not yet profitable on an operating basis. Continued losses can consume capital, limit reinvestment capacity, and increase dependence on future project outcomes or additional funding to sustain operations.
Shrinking Shareholders’ EquityThe sharp erosion of shareholders’ equity reflects the cumulative effect of losses and/or capital structure changes, leaving a much smaller capital base. This weakens balance-sheet resilience and reduces the financial buffer available to absorb further losses or support long-term exploration activity.
