Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q3 2026
Earnings Call Date:Oct 28, 2026|% Change Since:2.35%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was predominantly positive. Ford reported strong adjusted EBIT, free cash flow, liquidity, product performance, Ford Credit earnings, auto adjacency growth and Ford Energy customer commitments, while raising the low end of full-year EBIT guidance. These strengths outweighed the explicitly stated challenges, including lower revenue, declines in Ford Blue and Ford Pro EBIT, ongoing Model e losses, commodity and logistics headwinds, European pressure and remaining Fathom supply-base risks.

Company Guidance

Ford now expects full year 2026 adjusted EBIT between $10.5 billion and $11 billion, adjusted free cash flow of $6 billion to $7 billion and capital expenditures of $9.5 billion to $10.5 billion; full year segment guidance is Ford Blue EBIT of about $5.5 billion, Ford Pro EBIT of about $7 billion, Model e losses of about $4 billion and Ford Credit EBT of about $2.8 billion. Guidance assumes a U.S. SAAR of 16.5 million units, commodity headwinds approaching $2.5 billion year-over-year, U.S. industry pricing of about 100 basis points higher year-over-year, and $1 billion in material and warranty cost reductions, excluding Novelis and tariffs, and does not include potential impacts of a significant escalation in the Middle East or a material downturn in the U.S. economy. Ford expects 2027 profitability to be roughly in line with this year, with commodities, memory and logistics costs a year-over-year headwind of about $2 billion at Ford, while targeting 8% adjusted EBIT margins by 2029, Model e breakeven by 2029, refreshed 70% of its global portfolio of vehicles by volume next year, and 20 gigawatt hours of Ford Energy capacity online by the end of next year.
