Company Description
Hoku Corp
Hoku Corporation operated as a solar energy firm, primarily serving the United States market with both products and services. Its core activities involved manufacturing polysilicon, a critical component for photovoltaic (PV) modules. Additionally, the company specialized in the design, engineering, and installation of complete (turnkey) PV systems and related services specifically within Hawaii, utilizing solar modules procured from other suppliers. Originally founded in 2001 as Hoku Scientific, Inc., the company officially adopted the name Hoku Corporation in March 2010. It was headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii. However, on July 2, 2013, Hoku Corporation, along with its associated entities, initiated voluntary liquidation proceedings under Chapter 7 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, filing their petition with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Idaho.
