Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Focused Lead Asset (masitinib) Across Multiple IndicationsAB Science's lead asset, masitinib, targets multiple therapeutic areas. A single, well-characterized candidate pursued across oncology and inflammatory/neurological indications can create several potential commercial pathways, leverage existing safety and PK data, and concentrate R&D spend for durable upside if trials succeed.
Positive Revenue Growth TrendRevenue has shown consistent improvement, with reported growth and a notable 2025 uptick (~14%). Sustained revenue growth, even from a small base, indicates emerging commercial traction or milestone receipts and can modestly extend runway and validate parts of the development strategy over coming months.
Material Debt Reduction By 2025Sharp reduction in debt lowers financing costs and near-term creditor pressure, improving solvency metrics and operational flexibility. This structural deleveraging reduces default risk and frees capacity for R&D or partnering moves, strengthening the balance sheet over the medium term.
Bears Say
Persistently Negative Shareholder EquityNegative shareholder equity across reported years is a structural solvency red flag. It erodes financial resilience, constrains access to traditional financing, increases reliance on dilutive capital or partnerships, and leaves the company vulnerable to shocks absent sustained profitability or external recapitalization.
Resumed Cash Burn In 2025The return to significant negative operating and free cash flow in 2025 signals renewed funding needs. Persistent negative cash generation increases likelihood of dilution or debt financing, elevates liquidity risk, and creates a multi-month to multi-quarter structural headwind until cash flow turns sustainably positive.
Deep Recurring Net LossesChronic, sizeable operating and net losses undermine long-term sustainability. Continued negative profitability depletes resources, keeps shareholder equity negative, and makes future commercial success and financing outcomes binary for investors, imposing structural pressure until break-even or significant financing occurs.
