The company's operations encompass identifying and notifying potential infringers, actively marketing its patent rights, and negotiating a range of agreements, including licensing arrangements, market test deals, and settlements with organizations that violate the Freeny Patent. Established in 1959 as Domestic Credit Corporation, the firm changed its name to Mardyne, Inc. in 1980, then to Dial-A-Gift, Inc. in 1985, and subsequently to Interactive Gift Express, Inc. in 1994, before adopting its current name, E-data Corporation, in 1995. Headquartered in Port Washington, New York, E-Data Corp. has been a subsidiary of Kaba Holding AG since May 31, 2011.
