Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q3 2026
Earnings Call Date:Oct 28, 2026|% Change Since:-8.49%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was strongly positive overall. Everspin reported record revenue, 47% year-over-year growth, higher product and non-GAAP earnings, strong demand across multiple end markets, continued design-win conversion and progress on several future product and partnership initiatives. The main negative factors were elevated litigation and regulatory costs, product cost pressure, a projected fourth-quarter GAAP loss and longer-dated commercialization timelines for CXL and JEDEC-related products.

Company Guidance

For Q4 2026, Everspin expects total revenue to be in the range of $21.5 million to $22.5 million, GAAP results per fully diluted share to be between a net loss of $0.08 to $0.13 per share, and non-GAAP earnings to be between $0.13 to $0.18 per fully diluted share, excluding litigation costs, NRE related to the Microchip MRAM line and stock-based compensation expense; Q4 litigation costs are expected to be slightly lower than Q3, while in 2027 those litigation expenses should reduce significantly, product margins are expected to improve sequentially, and the company continues to target long-term gross margins above 50%. Everspin remains on schedule to deliver first qualified silicon for Toggle and sensor products by the second half of 2027 and STT products by the first half of 2028, with a 256-megabit xSPI prototype in the first half of 2027, LPDDR6 MRAM samples by the end of '28 and early revenue in '29.

  • Record Third-Quarter RevenueThird-quarter revenue reached a record $20.6 million, up 47% year-over-year and slightly above the $19.5 million to $20.5 million guidance range. Management said the result was driven by strong product and nonproduct revenue growth.
  • Strong MRAM Product Revenue GrowthMRAM product sales were $16.9 million, up 34% year-over-year and 11% sequentially. Growth was driven by Industrial Automation, Data Center, Medical and Energy Management applications.
  • Recovery and Demand Across Key End MarketsIndustrial Automation growth was led by continued recovery in customer demand, particularly in Japan. Data Center demand was strong for RAID storage configurations, while Energy Management benefited from new design wins transitioning to shipments in Europe.
  • Growing Medical Application AdoptionEverspin reported a significant uptick in Medical product revenue, including new design wins and increased customer pull. MRAM is being used in dialysis machines, infusion pumps, portable diagnostic devices, defibrillators and patient monitors because of its reliability, data retention during power loss and endurance under continuous operation.
  • Nonproduct Revenue IncreaseLicensing, royalty, engineering services and other revenue increased to $3.7 million from $1.4 million in the third quarter of 2025, primarily due to continued revenue recognition on the $40 million subcontract agreement with a U.S. prime contractor.
  • Solid Gross Margin PerformanceGAAP gross margin was 51.4%, compared with 51.3% in the third quarter of 2025. Management continues to target long-term gross margins above 50%.
  • Improved Non-GAAP EarningsThird-quarter non-GAAP net income was $3.1 million, or $0.12 per diluted share, compared with $1.5 million, or $0.06 per share, in the third quarter of 2025. Results were within the guided range of $0.10 to $0.15 per share.
  • Debt-Free Balance Sheet and Improved Operating Cash FlowEverspin ended the quarter debt-free with $43 million in cash and cash equivalents. Cash flow from operations increased to $0.9 million from $0.2 million in the second quarter.
  • Microchip MRAM Manufacturing Program Remains on ScheduleProcess development and transfer activities for the Microchip project at the Gresham, Oregon, fab are ongoing, including mask tape-out. The company remains on schedule to deliver first qualified silicon for Toggle and sensor products in the second half of 2027 and STT products in the first half of 2028.
  • UNISYST and xSPI Product Roadmap ProgressEverspin remains on track to produce a 256-megabit xSPI prototype using TSMC's 16-nanometer FinFET process in the first half of 2027. The prototype is intended to support future UNISYST unified code and data memory products at 1-gigabit, 2-gigabit and 8-gigabit densities for applications including low Earth orbit satellites, FPGAs and flight-control systems.
  • Aerospace and Defense MomentumThe company reported continued progress from both new and existing space-based mission design wins. Everspin also signed a strategic partnership with Teledyne HiRel to offer 64-megabit, 128-megabit and 256-megabit PERSYST STT-MRAM solutions for avionics, VPX and single-board computers, radar, electronic warfare, satellite electronics and autonomous systems.
  • Successful CXL-Connected MRAM DemonstrationEverspin successfully demonstrated what it described as the world's first CXL-connected MRAM at the Storage Networking Industry Association developer conference. The solution combines high-speed connectivity with persistence, supports nanosecond-class cache and writes up to 100x faster than NAND-based solid-state storage. The demonstration generated visitors for two days and several follow-up customer discussions.
  • Expansion of Persistent Memory Standards EffortEverspin led the formation of an LPDDR persistent memory task group at JEDEC, with its VP of Corporate Strategy serving as chair. The effort is intended to enable persistent memory to leverage the existing LPDDR ecosystem across edge, IoT, wearable, mobile, enterprise, data center and hyperscale CSP markets.
  • Positive Design-Win and Market TractionManagement said design wins are trending upward, based on product revenue growth and the conversion of design wins into production. The company identified low Earth orbit satellites and data centers as its fastest-growing areas, followed closely by Industrial Automation across Japan, Europe and other regions.
  • NOR Flash Replacement OpportunityManagement said conversion of NOR Flash capacity to DRAM is creating NOR Flash availability challenges, prompting distributors to request MRAM replacement parts. The opportunity is not yet significant or material, but Everspin is seeing traction that could become significant in the fourth quarter and first quarter, and the opportunity is included in fourth-quarter revenue guidance.
  • Positive Fourth-Quarter Non-GAAP OutlookEverspin expects fourth-quarter revenue of $21.5 million to $22.5 million and non-GAAP earnings of $0.13 to $0.18 per fully diluted share. The non-GAAP figures exclude litigation costs, NRE related to the Microchip MRAM line and stock-based compensation expense.
  • Continued Customer Engagement InvestmentNon-GAAP operating expenses increased 13% to $8.5 million from $7.5 million in the prior-year quarter, driven by increased spending on customer engagement and marketing initiatives intended to strengthen customer relationships, expand market presence and support long-term revenue growth.
