Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Discovery PlatformThe proprietary platform has already produced multiple immuno-oncology targets, while the cited human-disease grounding supports differentiated discovery. Repeated output across wholly owned and partnered programs can broaden the pipeline and create licensing or royalty opportunities over the next several quarters.
Cash Runway And LeverageA runway into 2029 reduces near-term dependence on capital markets while clinical programs advance. Combined with very low leverage, this gives management flexibility to fund development and negotiate partnerships without immediate balance-sheet pressure or forced financing.
Partnered Pipeline ProgressExpansion into a 12th Phase III trial and encouraging partner-reported survival data increase the commercial relevance of rilvegostomig. Although development remains partner-led, broader late-stage testing can improve the potential for future milestones and royalties.
Bears Say
MAIA Regulatory UncertaintyMAIA's small, exploratory, non-registrational design means its interim result may not carry the statistical or regulatory weight of a pivotal trial. Without an established FDA pathway, even a favorable PFS signal could require additional studies before it translates into approval or durable economics.
Partner DependenceCompugen's largest cited upside streams depend on AstraZeneca and Gilead advancing programs, achieving milestones, and ultimately commercializing products. That structure can make revenue timing intermittent and leaves important value realization outside the company's direct control.
Ongoing LossesThe company remains loss-making despite year-over-year revenue growth, and absolute revenue is still modest relative to operating costs. Continued spending without recurring product sales leaves economics sensitive to collaboration recognition and milestone timing, weakening confidence that recent improvement is a stable earnings base.

Company Description
Compugen Ltd
Compugen Ltd., an Israeli-based company established in 1993 and headquartered in Holon, is a clinical-stage enterprise focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of therapeutic and product candidates. Its operations extend across Israel, the United States, and Europe. The company’s core activities center around its immuno-oncology pipeline, which includes several investigational treatments: COM701, an anti-PVRIG antibody currently undergoing Phase I clinical studies for solid tumors. COM902, a therapeutic antibody designed to target TIGIT, which is also in Phase I clinical trials as a monotherapy for advanced malignancies. Bapotulimab, an antibody targeting ILDR2, presently in Phase I clinical development for solid tumor indications. AZD2936, an innovative bispecific antibody targeting both TIGIT and PD-1, advancing through Phase I/II clinical studies for patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. Additionally, Compugen maintains earlier-stage immuno-oncology programs, with a particular emphasis on myeloid targets. To further its research and development, Compugen actively fosters strategic alliances. It has a collaboration agreement with Bayer Pharma AG for the research, development, and commercialization of antibody-based therapeutics that modulate immune checkpoint regulators. Another key partnership is with Bristol-Myers Squibb, aimed at evaluating the safety and tolerability of COM701 when administered alongside Bristol-Myers Squibb's PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor, Opdivo, in patients with advanced solid tumors. The company also collaborates with Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to investigate novel T cell and myeloid checkpoint targets, and has a distinct research collaboration with Johns Hopkins University specifically dedicated to myeloid science. Furthermore, Compugen holds a licensing agreement with AstraZeneca for the development of bi-specific and multi-specific immuno-oncology antibody products.
CW9 Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed measurable progress across Compugen's pipeline and partnerships — notable trial milestones (MAIA interim due Q1 2027), encouraging partner data (rilvegostomig ASCO OS signal), strengthened cash runway into 2029, and material milestone/royalty upside from Gilead and AstraZeneca. Offsetting these positives are key uncertainties: MAIA's exploratory design and lowered control-arm PFS benchmark, absence of pre-readout FDA engagement, early-stage status and limited visibility for GS-0321 data, dependency on partner execution for value realization, and continued modest absolute revenues with ongoing net losses. Overall, the fundamentals improved and near-term clinical and financial visibility increased, but meaningful regulatory and partner-driven milestones remain future-dependent.View all DE:CW9 earnings summariesCW9 Stock 12 Month Forecast
