The company operates globally, with significant activities in the United Kingdom, the United States, and other international markets. Its operations are structured across three primary segments: Construction Services, Support Services, and Infrastructure Investments. The Construction Services segment offers a broad spectrum of building and engineering expertise, including civil engineering, general building works, ground engineering, mechanical and electrical installations, as well as refurbishment, fit-out, and rail engineering projects. The Support Services division focuses on designing, upgrading, managing, and maintaining essential utility networks such as water, gas, and electricity, alongside rail and highway infrastructure. Through its Infrastructure Investments segment, Balfour Beatty strategically acquires, operates, and divests a diverse portfolio of infrastructure assets. These include, but are not limited to, roads, hospitals, student and military housing, offshore transmission networks, waste and biomass facilities, and other concession-based schemes. This segment also actively develops and provides financial backing for both public and private infrastructure ventures. Balfour Beatty serves a varied clientele, encompassing government bodies and agencies, regulated utility companies, and private sector organizations. The company was established in 1909 and maintains its headquarters in London, United Kingdom.
