Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Business FocusA pure-play exploration and development business model gives Manuka optionality: advancing projects and studies can unlock value via discovery, permitting, JV or sale. Over 2-6 months, project progress and study completion are durable drivers of future cash flow potential if financing is secured.
Historic ProfitabilityPrior positive gross profit, EBIT and net income in FY2022 indicate the company has operated profitably under the right conditions. This demonstrates operational capability and a pathway back to profitability if revenue-producing operations or asset monetization resume.
Stable Asset BaseA relatively stable asset base provides a tangible foundation for recovery: assets can underwrite project financing, be used as collateral, or be monetized via joint ventures or disposals to restore liquidity and operational capacity over the medium term.
Bears Say
Revenue CollapseA drop to zero revenue is a severe structural concern: it implies halted operations or lost offtake and removes the company's primary path to cover costs. Restoring sustainable revenue will require capital, time and successful project reactivation or new contracts.
Negative Cash GenerationPersistent negative operating and free cash flow forces reliance on external funding, dilutive equity issuances or debt. Over months this constrains the company's ability to advance projects, meet obligations, and increases refinancing risk absent a credible cash generation turnaround.
Extremely High LeverageVery high leverage severely limits financial flexibility, raises interest and covenant risk, and leaves little equity buffer against further losses. This materially increases insolvency risk and constrains strategic options like funding development or attracting partners over the medium term.
