Alaska Power & Telephone Company
Operating through its subsidiaries, Alaska Power & Telephone Company (APTL) provides essential, regulated electricity and telecommunication services to rural communities across Alaska. The company's operations are divided into two main segments: Electric and Telecommunications. The Electric segment is responsible for retail and wholesale power delivery, generating electricity from both hydroelectric and diesel facilities. Meanwhile, the Telecommunications segment primarily offers local telephone services in these remote areas. APTL also extends its service offerings to include a comprehensive suite of modern communication solutions, such as broadband internet, mesh Wi-Fi, network access, local and long-distance phone service, traditional voice, data transport, and specialized telecom engineering. Established in 1957, Alaska Power & Telephone Company is headquartered in Port Townsend, Washington.
