Its diverse range of vehicles encompasses high-speed, regional, and commuter trains, as well as metros, light rail vehicles (LRVs), tram-trains, trams, light metros, and locomotives. Additionally, CAF produces electric and hydrogen buses. Beyond complete vehicles, the company provides essential equipment and components, including wheel sets, wheels, axles, gear units, and sophisticated traction, converter, energy storage, and control and communication systems. CAF complements these offerings with an extensive suite of services, such as the design, manufacture, supply, and maintenance of railway signaling systems. Its service portfolio further extends to include after-sales support like technological advice and inspection guidelines, financing solutions, and comprehensive maintenance, refurbishment, and upgrading services. The company also manages data compilation, storage, processing, and analysis, handles spare parts and workshop equipment, and offers technical support and consultancy. CAF is also proficient in delivering complete turnkey solutions, covering aspects from initial viability studies and civil engineering to electrification, signaling implementation, ongoing maintenance, and system operation. Founded in 1917, Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A. is headquartered in Beasain, Spain. The company adopted its present name in 1971, having previously been known as Compañía Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles S.A.
