Bulls Say
Expanding Fiber FootprintA rapidly growing fiber network meaningfully expands the addressable market and supports durable recurring revenue. Larger passings and route miles enable scale in installation and maintenance, improving unit economics and laying the foundation for sustained subscriber and commercial service growth over multi-year horizons.
Higher‑Margin Revenue MixA structural shift to fiber, now over half of revenue, improves consolidated margin potential long term. Fiber products carry higher ARPU stability and lower relative operating cost per RGU, underpinning management’s path to mid‑40s EBITDA margins and stronger cash generation as builds mature.
Positive Operating Cash FlowSustained positive operating cash flow indicates underlying service cash generation despite accounting losses. This cash flow can fund near-term operations, partially offset capex needs, and reduce immediate refinancing risk, giving management room to complete fiber builds and reach projected free cash flow inflection.
Bears Say
Heavy Capital Intensity And Negative FCFLarge, persistent capex keeps free cash flow deeply negative, forcing dependence on external financing or grants. Prolonged negative FCF increases leverage risk, limits flexibility for strategic investments or dividends, and makes the business vulnerable if fiber revenue growth or expected capex declines don’t materialize.
Rising Leverage And Limited LiquidityMaterial increase in leverage reduces financial flexibility during execution risk. With significant debt outstanding and modest near-term liquidity, the company faces higher refinancing or covenant sensitivity if cash flows weaken, constraining strategic optionality until free cash flow turns sustainably positive.
Legacy Revenue Declines And ARPU PressureOngoing declines in legacy services and ARPU erosion from competitive pricing undermine consolidated revenue sustainability. Even as fiber grows, legacy erosion and rural demand weakness can offset gains, pressuring margin progression and lengthening the timeline to consistent profitability and cash flow breakeven.

SH9 Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed strong operational momentum driven by fiber expansion: record Glo Fiber net adds, >31% YoY data subscriber growth, 21.4% fiber revenue growth, and improving margins (adjusted EBITDA +12.9%, margin +200 bps). Management reiterated 2026 guidance, outlined a path to positive free cash flow in 2027 and targets for higher EBITDA margins. Offsetting these positives are continued declines in incumbent and RLEC revenues (video and DSL erosion), ARPU pressure from competitive pricing and rural rate adjustments, modestly higher churn in incumbent markets, substantial near-term CapEx and material net debt with limited immediate liquidity availability. Overall, the company appears to be transitioning successfully to a fiber-first, higher-margin model, but still faces near-term headwinds from legacy declines, ARPU pressure and elevated capital requirements.View all CH:SH9 earnings summariesSH9 Stock 12 Month Forecast
