The Trump administration is in negotiations with Eli Lilly (LLY) and Novo Nordisk (NVO) to provide some of their weight-loss drugs on TrumpRx for as low as $149 per month, according to the Wall Street Journal. In addition, the administration seeks to open up Medicare and Medicaid coverage for the drugs. President Trump is set to make an announcement on Thursday morning if a deal is struck.

Trump Administration Eyes Cheaper Wegovy and Zepbound Plans

Sources familiar with the matter said that the discussions include offering the lowest dose of Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy for $149 per month and the lowest dose of Eli Lilly’s Zepbound at $249 per month. Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic may also be available on TrumpRx, while Eli Lilly’s orforglipron could be available as well if it is able to pass U.S. Food and Drug Administration trials.

Spokespeople from both companies confirmed discussions with the administration, adding that the two companies seek to make weight-loss drugs more affordable.
