JPMorgan views the “early and surprising” renewal with Charter as a win for Warner Bros. Discovery, saying it provides some reassurance on the company’s position in the cable bundle following the NBA loss and easing an overhang. The firm assumes Charter will pay a wholesale rate to eligible subs. The agreement also brings a template for future deals, says JPMorgan, which keeps a Neutral rating on Warner shares.
