Walgreens sees closing about 1,200 store over next three years

Earlier, along with Walgreens Boots Alliance having announced financial results for the fiscal year and fourth quarter that ended Aug. 31, the company announced a footprint optimization program targeting approximately 1,200 closures over the next three years, including approximately 500 closures in fiscal 2025, which it says “will be immediately accretive to adjusted EPS and free cash flow.” Future expected store closures of approximately 1,200 includes approximately 300 stores previously approved under the “Transformational Cost Management Program,” the company noted.
