Truist lowered the firm’s price target on Viper Energy to $40 from $43 but keeps a Buy rating on the shares after its Q4 results. The company’s production growth was "solid", and given its low cost operational approach, Viper Energy has attractive upside to commodity price pressures, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm adds that Viper production should ramp nearly 10% sequentially this year with growth per unit even higher given the company’s continued buybacks.
