On Tuesday, legislators from the two parties agreed on a tax proposal with several business-focused provisions. They could spur greater investment spending, but also amount to a corporate windfall, Nicholas Jasinski writes in this week’s edition of Barron’s. The big winners: stocks of companies that spend the most on research, equipment, and interest payments. Industrials and energy companies and other capex-intensive businesses like telecommunications companies could see the biggest boost to cash flow from the change. Those include Verizon Communications (VZ), Intel (INTC) , EOG Resources (EOG), and Carnival (CCL).
