Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google and Universal Music (UMGNF) are in talks to license artists’ melodies and voices for “deepfake” songs generated by artificial intelligence as the music business seeks to strike a partnership to monetize one of its biggest threats, reported Financial Times’ Anna Nicolaou and Madhumita Murgia, citing four people familiar with the matter.
