Morgan Stanley analyst Ravi Shanker raised the firm’s price target on United Airlines to $88 from $80 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. Q3 beat expectations on better margins and “could mark the inflection” at which United, and possibly the whole industry, “switches from playing defense in a post-pandemic world to playing offense,” the analyst tells investors. Aggressive balance sheet actions and other initiatives set up 2025 “very well,” though this is “still far from being priced in” as the wait for the Spring Investor Day continues, the analyst added.
