Union Pacific (UNP) lost a contract to haul the international containerized freight of APL to its rival BNSF Railway, which is owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B), Thomas Black of Bloomberg reports, citing a source familiar with the deal. Union Pacific said on its earnings conference call Thursday that it lost a major international intermodal customer but declined to name the customer, Bloomberg notes.
