U.S. nears deal to fund Moderna’s bird flu vaccine trial, FT reports

The U.S. government is nearing a deal to support a late-stage trial of Moderna’s mRNA pandemic bird flu vaccine, Oliver Barnes of The Financial Times reports. Federal funding from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority could come as early as next month, people close to the discussions told the Times. The funding is expected to be a total of several tens of millions of dollars and could be accompanied with the commitment to procure doses, the sources added.
