The United States is considering unilateral restrictions on China’s access to AI memory chips and equipment capable of making those semiconductors as soon as next month in a measure designed to keep Micron Technology (MU), SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics from supplying Chinese firms with high-bandwidth memory, or HBM, chips, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg’s Mackenzie Hawkins. The sources emphasized that no final decision has been made regarding restrictions on the three firms, which dominate the global HBM market, the report added.
