Shonnel Malani, an Advent managing partner and Cobham’s chairman, said in an interview Wednesday that the company is looking seriously at Mercury Systems, which announced that it is exploring strategic alternatives, reported Bloomberg’s Jan-Henrik Foerster. Bloomberg quotes Malani as having stated a day after Mercury announced it had begun a strategic review: "Mercury would be the perfect fit. There are only two mid-tier players worldwide that service the components for radars, which are Cobham and Mercury." In Wednesday morning trading, Mercury Systems shares are up 16% to $57.90.
