According to Taiwan’s United Daily News, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing plans to build a 1 nm process fab in southern Taiwan, reported The Chosun Daily. TSMC (TSM), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, aims to introduce the anticipated 1 nm process ahead of rivals such as Samsung Electronics (SSNLF) and Intel (INTC) to “strengthen its market leadership,” the report stated.
