TSA investigation finds flaws in Clear Secure’s screening, Bloomberg reports

A U.S. government probe has found flaws in Clear Secure’s process for speeding customers through security lines, Alan Levin and Mary Schlangenstein of Bloomberg report. The Transportation Security Administration’s investigation determined the company’s facial-recognition system to enroll new members was vulnerable to abuse, people familiar with the review told Bloomberg. The computer-generated photos of prospective customers sometimes captured blurry images, obscured faces, or only parts of the face. Clear employees would then manually verify the prospective customers’ identities, which created the potential for human error.
