The White House is weighing a plan to extend Chevron’s (CVX) license to pump oil in Venezuela and impose tariffs or financial penalties on other countries that do business with the South American country, according to people familiar with the discussions, The Wall Street Journal’s Brian Schwartz, Alex Leary, and Collin Eaton report. On Wednesday, President Trump expressed openness to reversing the administration’s recent decision to order the company to wind down its Venezuela operation next month, the people say.
