Union employees of Carnival have accused the company of threatening to fire over 900 crew members if they do not agree to pay reductions up to 20%, Business Insider’s Matt Loh reports, citing trade union Nautilus International. The union claimed Carnival UK has indicated it wants to “fire and rehire” 919 staff amid negotiations. “We are categorically not making any redundancies and will not dismiss and re-engage staff,” a Carnival UK spokesperson said, adding the firm was conducting an “annual pay review process.”
