Toyota shareholders backed the company’s management and rejected a challenge on its climate policy at its annual meeting, The Financial Times’ Kana Inagaki reports. Ahead of the AGM, proxy adviser Glass Lewis recommended that shareholders vote against the reappointment as Toyota chair of Akio Toyoda, arguing that Toyoda presided over a board that did not have enough independent directors.
