The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is ordering Tesla (TSLA) to provide records to comply with a sweeping probe into potential safety defects with the company’s flush-mounted, retractable door handles that can lead to people getting trapped in the vehicle, CNBC’s Lora Kolodny reports. NHTSA said the agency has continued to receive complaints from Tesla owners after they started the investigation in September, the author notes.
