The Tampa Bay Rays are in advanced talks to sell the team to a group led by Florida developer Patrick Zalupski, multiple sources told Sportico’s Scott Soshnick and Kurt Badenhausen. The deal values the MLB team at roughly $1.7B and Zalupski has signed a letter of intent to purchase the team, the report noted. Publicly traded owners of sports franchises include the Liberty Braves Group (BATRA), MSG Sports (MSGS) and Manchester United (MANU).
