Supreme Court to hear Chevron, Exxon appeal over LA coastal harm, Reuters says

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal brought by Chevron (CVX), Exxon Mobil (XOM), and other oil and gas firms to have lawsuits brought by two Louisiana local claiming they harmed the state’s coasts over decades shifted out of state court and into federal court, Reuters’ Nate Raymond reports. The justices opted to hear out the bid challenging a lower court’s determination rejected their claims that the litigation belongs in federal court because the parishes of Plaquemines and Cameron were suing over oil output activities undertaken to fulfill U.S. government refinery contracts during World War II, the author says.
