NBCUniversal’s (CMCSA) latest hit film "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," based on the popular Nintendo (NTDOY) video game franchise, has crossed the $500M threshold at the global box office, Variety’s Brent Lang reported last night. The movie has earned $260.3M domestically and $248.4M internationally to combine for a global haul of $508.7M, making it so far the highest-grossing movie of the year, the author says.
