After AMD (AMD) announced an agreement to acquire privately held Silo AI – which specializes in custom, open source, and multilingual LLMs and offers productized AI solutions that can be customized and applied to various end-market applications – in an all-cash transaction valued at about $665M, Stifel said the set of AI tools reminds the firm of Nvidia’s (NVDA) recently launched Nemo Inference Microservices, or NIMs. The firm, which views the acquisition positively and as another proof point that providing an AI stack which includes various layers of software will increasingly drive competitive differentiation, keeps a Buy rating and $200 price target on AMD shares.
