Howard Schultz left the board of Starbucks because he was concerned he was a “distraction” for the company, The New York Post’s Lydia Moynihan reports. While Schultz stepped down for the third time as CEO in March, insiders say Schultz and other board members came to feel that “even his presence as a board member was too controversial.” “The business has changed a ton since Howard’s heyday,” a source said. “It doesn’t make sense for him to be part of it anymore.”
