Starbucks is pulling back on its promotions and discounts in order to reposition the coffee chain after a turbulent year, Heather Haddon of The Wall Street Journal reports. Since Brian Niccol was appointed as the new CEO, Starbucks has quietly reduced the number of discounts it offered for long stretches over the past year, company executives and baristas told the Journal.
