Unionized Starbucks (SBUX) baristas plan to strike on November 13, the company’s busy Red Cup Day, to push for a contract after years of stalled talks, Bloomberg’s Josh Eidelson and Redd Brown report. Starbucks Workers United, which represents about 550 stores, says the walkouts could expand if negotiations don’t progress. Starbucks criticized the strike authorization, saying the union represents only 4% of employees and that the company already offers strong pay and benefits.
