Starboard Value is preparing to launch a proxy fight at Autodesk (ADSK), Lauren Thomas of Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter. Starboard has a more than $500M stake in Autodesk and intends to nominate a minority slate of director candidates ahead of the tech company’s coming annual meeting, sources told the Journal. The activist believes the company has been underperforming the software and broader markets in recent years, the people added.
