William Blair downgraded Splunk (SPLK) to Market Perform from Outperform without a price target after the company entered into an agreement to be acquired by Cisco (CSCO) for $157 per share in an all-cash transaction. The analyst believes the transaction makes sense given Cisco’s history in the networking, security, and observability markets. The firm says a higher bid is unlikely.
