Spirit Airlines will pay up to $8.25M to resolve class action litigation by passengers who claim the airline blindsided them with surprise carry-on bag fees on tickets purchased through third-party travel services, Reuters’ Brendan Pierson reports. Attorneys for the passengers disclosed the agreement in a motion late Wednesday in federal court in Brooklyn and requested that a judge approve it, saying it “represents a fair compromise,” the author notes.
