Spire Global successfully launched seven satellites on the SpaceX Transporter-11 mission, which launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on August 16. This marks Spire’s third launch of 2024 and the 41st in the company’s history, bringing the total number of Spire satellites launched to 196. These newly launched LEMUR satellites, ranging from 3U- to 16U-sized satellite buses, are designed for a wide range of applications that include data to improve weather forecasting, global soil moisture analysis and maritime ship tracking. The satellites will also serve missions for Space Services customers.
