Tim Brown, Chief Information Security Officer, CISO, at SolarWinds, is the first cyber chief to fight an effort by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, to hold him personally responsible for a massive Russian hack, Stephanie Stacey of The Financial Times reports. Brown faced a lawsuit that accused him and the company of misleading investors by not disclosing “known risks” and not properly representing the company’s security measures. In an interview with the Financial Times, Brown warned that global cyber regulations are still “in flux,” which has added “stress across the globe” on cyber chiefs.
