Social-media companies pull back on content moderation, WSJ reports

Social-media companies are now pulling back on all of their content moderation on their platforms, Alexa Course, Meghan Bobrowsky, and Jeff Horwitz of The Wall Street Journal report. Back in 2022, Elon Musk started this trend after acquiring Twitter and slashing content-policy jobs and loosening content restrictions. Then in 2023, YouTube (GOOGL) and Meta (META) halted policies that curbed claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 U.S. election.
