Sikorsky to lay off employees amid cancellation of Army program, NBCC reports

Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky plans to lay off employees due to the U.S. Army’s decision to cancel the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft program, NBC Connecticut’s Angela Fortuna reports. A spokesperson told NBC Connecticut that amounts to less than 1% of parent company Lockheed Martin’s workforce. “We intend to retain as many roles as possible to meet national security commitments and preserve the U.S. rotary wing industrial base,” the spokesperson said. In a statement, Senator Chris Murphy said the layoffs could impact as many as 400 jobs.
