Seaport Research thinks Block (SQ) should acquire Shift4 Payments (FOUR). Block has the market cap to do it and strategically, the dea; makes a lot of sense for Square, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says Square would be expanding its footprint significantly by acquiring Shift4. With Shift4, Square would increase its presence in some “very attractive, to-date underpenetrated verticals” including stadiums, restaurants, and hotels via Shift4, contends Seaport. The firm thinks Shift4 would open up fresh growth opportunities for Square to grow and gain share.
