Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers says Reuters last night reported that Samsung’s (SSNLF) 8H / 12H HBM3E solutions are yet to pass quality tests due to heat and power consumption issues. The news is a positive Micron (MU) and will also likely reignite questions over AMD‘s (AMD) HBM3 supply dynamics, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Wells points out that reports earlier this year suggested that AMD’s MI300 graphic processing units were architected to support HBM3E, which leaves it to consider a MI300 HBM3E refresh possibly in the second half of 2026. The firm thinks Micron’s HBM3E solutions could be qualified.
