Rivian Automotive said it is investigating the damaged vehicles at its Normal, Illinois plant. The plant itself is unaffected and the company is not aware of any injuries, Rivian said in a statement to news outlooks. Several cars in the parking lot of the Rivian plant in Normal were damaged by the fire, according to local news reports. 25 News reports Normal Fire Department spokesperson Matt Swaney said the blaze was extinguished by midnight Saturday, but crews remained on the scene. Swaney said the Rivian assembly plant was not affected by the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
