Rio Tinto in discussions to acquire Arcadium Lithium, Reuters reports

Rio Tinto (RIO) has been having discussions to acquire lithium miner Arcadium (ALTM), a deal that would make Rio the third-biggest producer of the EV battery metal, Reuters’ Ernest Scheyder and Clara Denina report, citing three sources with direct knowledge of the negotiations. Discussions have been ongoing and continued in London this week, the authors say. An offer is anticipated in the near future, though talks remain ongoing and may not necessarily lead to a deal, the authors note.
